Little piglet pattern

on February 10, 2014

I hope you are enjoying my Tortoise and hare pattern and have one or two bunnies hopping on your table.

I was inspired by this Japanese little cotton doll called “Sarukko” (monkey boy/child).

It is made with a square cotton, all four corners sewn together to create the limbs. Now you know where the hare pattern comes from.

With this pattern, you can enjoy variations.

If you make the head a bit rounder by adding a few more stitches and make the body a bit chubbier by simply adding more stuffing, you get these.

Happy piglets.

or knit a square of 4cm x 3cm with pink

Ears: make two
With two strands from pink DK, cast on 3 sts.
Row1: p1, p2tog (2)
row2: slip the first st, k1. Slip the first st over the second and fasten off.

With two strands form pink DK, cast on 8 sts. Break yarn, draw through sts, pull tightly and fasten off.

Make 5 chains with crochet hook and fasten off. Hide the fasten-off end yarn inside the tail, pull gently to curve the tail.

Please see my tutorial for the assembling steps here.

These piglets were made by accident. I intended to make angels, but the body colour was too pink so that I changed them to piglets.

I think it worked.
